DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

-----------------------

The SC64046 is the same functionality as the SC64020 with improved

noise performance between 2 - 2.5 Ghz. This is accomplished by a

1st metal,

via, and 2nd metal change which replaces the mux/flip-flop which

resynchronizes the prescaler output to fin with an isolating

buffer/mux. The new part resynchronizes the output to the div 4/5

stage instead of fin, which relaxes the the resynchronizing clock

period from

323 ps to 1.29 ns.

Part Number re-identified as SC64046FN, SC64046FNR2 per

customer request. Device change over will occur in 90 days, or

when existing materials/inventory have been exhausted.

SC64020 part numbers will be retired in approximately one year, and

after all open demands are satisfied.
